PRECIPITATION

"Precipitation is the main entry of water into terrestrial ecosystems; however, Andean forests regularly receive additional inputs of water by trapping the mist and the rain carried by the wind, In this regard, it is well known that the contact between the fog and the vegetation makes this last catch some of the water.

The Andean forests receive vertical and horizontal rains and water brought by the wind and clouds. There is always more rainfall in the higher altitude areas. The Andean forests are humid places and that determines their vegetation.
